I've noticed that TKD doesn't use punches at all in the olympics. I've competed in tournaments and they use punches. I guess they aren't as effective and beautiful as kicks.

Only Austrian Championship I never did it real professional, but i am still doing it know for more then 7 years.

Now im 18, won Lithuanian Championship 5 times in a row, and im looking forward for 2012 Londo Olympic Games :)

To lean back ist because of the own security... So that the other one can´t reach your face with his legs while you are trying to hit him. In real self defence nobody is(should) fighting like this. This what you see here ist the sport side of taekwondo. We also have a lot of hand combos, edge of the hand, blocks and all this stuff. most of the schools dont teach a lot of that, because they are conetrating only at the sports side. |
