I love the French! Unless I missed it, no mention of the Empire (x3 bigger than the French) - one of the chief reasons why the UK's 'geographical coordinates' are different (yes, we have got over the Empire but it's left a cultural and linguistic legacy). Also, I don't want to sound arrogant but our political institutions have stood the test of time: we may not like our politicians but we have more faith in the House of Commons than in the European "Parliament".
