i dont know like any german so this question mite sound stupid but why when you say "good night" its "gute natcht" but with all the other expressions its guteN (with an "n") something? can someone tell me

Hey, Can you teach me to speak German? I love the country, have visited a couple of times, just cant speak the language - other than the basics like where is the restroom, where is food, where is the hotel, how do you get to the airport.....
