I should mention that the wheelchair is actually mine and I will definitely be living out my days using it.So I dont normally use prusiks but sometimes if I need to get back up I use a gibs ascender. What you may not have realised is that this was a one way trip - I was swimming back.Tell me why would I need a belay?

I am a trad lead rock-climber who has additionally soloed canyons in the upper Blue Mountains, amongst other stuff. I was rock-climbing with a friend on sea-cliffs at Jervis Bay last week; each climb required us to abseil in to the base, then pull the rope down after us. To use the terms 'clip in, prussik and belay' in my post surely indicate that I am indeed an abseiler.

Hmmm... sorry if I appeared brusque in my post. I was surprised and concerned to see many people doing things that any technical book or formalised course on abseiling technique advises against.Let's all take care of ourselves and look out for our companions and others when on the cliffs.

Tell me a little about yourself - I am interested in your comments but they appear to be fairly aggressive. Are you an abseiler?

You guys wanna clip in?! Or is that a wheelchair to practise living out the rest of your days in? The woman on the left at 1.25 minutes in and the guy in the centre who walks up to the (wet?) cliff prior to her do not appear to be on a safety line. What's with the woman on the right crouching over another person - two fatalities in one trip? There are several errors in this vid; how come the abseiler does not have prusiks on him? Nor a belay of some form? Thanks for posting... not!
