actually Maurice Greene broke the world record in June, 1999 in Athens, prior to the world championship in 1999, though he did run 0.01 off his world record at the 1999 worlds. Asafa didn't break Greene record until June 2005, in Athens, nearly 6 years to the day Greene ran 9.79. Since Jim Hines broke the world record at the 68 Olympics, only Lewis, Bailey and Bolt has either tied or broken the world record(offically) at a major championship!
