Boost or N/A Power is Power. Most people like having Reliability so I can see why more people prefer N/A as opposed to a Turbo/Supercharger. Turbocharging is still a great way to make power with a smaller engine.

right man, the rotor housing being made of cast iron isn't most of the motor at all huh? especially whenever that it was houses the internals themselves. secondly, there's a difference in the LS1 and LS7's weights. thirdly, IIRC the T-56 is actually lighter than the mazdas 5-speed, much less a mazda 6-speed. Also, in the grand scheme of things, roughly 100 lbs. is negligible in a street car. No where did i say motor ALONE was the weight difference, it depends on what the end result is as well.

So they would make more money! why would more company's want an efficient engine that would has less parts to replace, in a car that would make then LOOSE money on the repair bill/parts end. Also you cant go "just anywhere" to fix a rotary. not everyone knows how to fix them. so less money for those who don't. Just the same as all cars aren't electric, sure they "save the environment" so why aren't they mandatory or more of them out there? same reason less money for the oil company's!

in actuality its something like that, but then again thats why people love 7's because of there weight, but ls1 have a frame, thats a camero, or corvette not RX7 keep them in what there meant for.

Wow some one doesn't know how to maintain a rotary engine properly. if you went threw rebuilds like that it was due to the lack of care on the drivers behave. What was Recalled about the RX-8? Are you talking about the flooding issues with the stock ECU and fuel map? Which is an easy fix. Or are you talking about some other non-existent recall that never happened? I don't know of any recalls?

You must have no idea the amount of torque a 20B has compared to the 2 rotor 13B. 20B > LS1 any day of the week.T hat is just a stock 20B that is not including a insane port job like Monster or PP.

Agreed
SpideyFan6010 (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
How long do you think a Rotary engine last? you tell me how many miles and I will tell you if you are correct or not.
SpideyFan6010 (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
Rotary engines are made ONLY by Mazda. That is why you don't see them in more cars not because they suck. If that is why you really think there aren't that many rotaries around then you are as dumb as Eatpez is. No Shit Sherlock Of course piston engines are gonna be a large part of the market every single car that isn't rotary powered has pistons in it. |
