The first movie shot with our new Canon XL2, Gaelic Knights wasdone as a project for my homeschool Gaelic class. Young Seumas MacLeod (Stephen Cull) has spent his life seeking Iain Macamhlaigh, the man who killed his father (Rick Cull). One day, he meets a young swordsman (Zack Lawrence) who claims that name. A viciousduel ensues, as well as an homage to The Princess Bride. But even skilled swordsmen can make mistakes. All of the dialogue is in Scots Gaelic. (I know it's not accurately subtitled, but it's close.) Originally, the film was not going to be subtitled, but finally was after realizing that people probably wouldn't beable to tell what was going on otherwise. Production took place in summer of 2005, and the video was completed in February of 2006.
