Diesotto is the best and way beyond this time...but it was just a presentation that mercedes will be step foward from rest of companies...remember that MERCDES 1939 denvelope car that could go 750km/h, model:t80, also beyond that time...many poeple dont know that mercedes best selling 4x4 wehicle...look at the onvention: disel engine, automatic gearbox, presafe, abs, first 4 door coupe

That is a quote from the industry leaders in consumer research and is based on new cars less than 7 months old.Everybody knows that the W220 S-class was a reliability let down due to overly complicated electronics but the results of consumer surveys of Mercedes cars released in the last 3 years have been outstanding as they committed themselves to improving it. And obviously their €1billion investments in greater reliability is working.2005 cars onwards are more reliable than Lexus - Fact.

to produce left-hand drive vehicles for export to the United States and other markets. Maintaining high levels of quality in the face of major changes to a production line requires a concerted effort by the local workforce and supplier base, said Brian Walters, vice president of J.D. Bullshit. Mercedes-Benzs continued attention to detail has enabled it to pass its competitors and rise to the top rank in 2008. The continued industry leading performance of the Mercedes-Benz East London plant is particularly remarkable considering that the plant was retooled in 2007...

DiesOtto is years ahead of anything Lexus have planned. And no, Toyota did not know for years about Mercedes reliability problems because they had none. Old mercedes are the most reliable cars ever built. It was only in the late 90s that it started going downhill a bit. And in the last couple of years the new cars appear to be as reliable as the legendary old ones. The worlds highest mileage car ever is an old E-class taxi in turkey which has almost 3million miles on it.

Lexus does not need badge. And Lexus not having a badge is something that I am happy about. After all, if badge is something you really need, why would it sell so many in the US? Lexus' problem is that they did not advertise in other countries as much as they did in the US, so Toyota better do it. Lexus doesn't need AMG as long as they actually release LF-A. It doesn't matter as long as Lexus hybrid sells more. Bluetec has no chance in North America whatsoever anyway.

Hey, I don't need to know such details of Merc history to talk about the S class. I am just stating the fact. Well, if there was no Lexus, the German automakers would still keep building unreliable cars today. Toyota actually knew about it before they made Lexus, because many people were complaining about the luxury cars' reliability. Recent reliability shows that Mercedes is still below average, and not even beating Ford Fusion.

i agree that BMWs are certainly unable to reach the same level of luxury as Mercedes and probably lexus but you talking down Mercedes just because they are a badge is the exact same thing as people talking them up because they are. Just goes to show Lexus doesnt have the badge cred they so desperatley want. Oh yeah and what does Lexus produce that can compete with an S65? Or even a S63? Btw Mercedes hybrid will be the first with lithium ion battery technology. Isnt that lexus speciality?

And yes the LS is historically an incredibly reliable vehicle but after all it has only been around for 19years compared to the S-class which is around since the 1950s. And old s-classes up until the w220 were engineered to a standard that no car manufacturer has ever achieved since. Mercedes were renowned for their over engineering of cars. Mercedes have decided to go back to this policy and recent reliability surveys show this.

You have no idea of the history of cars do you. No point to the S class?! Its the best selling luxury car of all time by a huge margin. Almost everything thats in ordinary cars now was in the S-class first about 20 years ago. Its the same today with mercedes pioneering vast amounts of safety equipment. Lexus copied mercedes with their dynamic cruise control which merc had years ago and its collision warning system is years behind mercedes.Without the s-class there would be no LS |
