I lived in Italy 41 years now.I was born in Milano, and lived in Roma for 20+ years.Just about ALL the movies I've seen in Italy are dubbed very well.This movie is an exceptional masterpiece of realism, of how life in Italy was, after WWII.

I lived in Italy (since I'm Italian) for 28 years...and I know what I'm saying...How many movies did you see in the original language? You didn't even know what's De Niro real voice...

I'm Italian and we saw this movie with my Dutch girlfriend...for sure Dutch subtitles can't give the exact Italian look and feel...but this happens always in Italy since there are only bad dubbed movies...And we don't have to forget about the background culture and way of behaving.How would u translate: "Non me voglio bagna` er fracche?": "I don't wanna get wet?"...it doesn't give at all the humor of the italian sentence...

... Sapete che il pretino che parla tedesco è niente popò di meno che.... SERGIO LEONE!!!!! Giuro. Era tar gli assistenti di De Sica e fece questa parte da generico. Irriconoscibile, vero?
