information we copy can be anything we just keep repeating. Like the sky is blue. Well, it is not always blue, but it is an accepted meme that the sky is blue. Memes are also repeated actions from information. Like male circumsission. Why is this still done? Because of information (wrong or right) being continually coppied. Nature would not have us chop off parts of our bodies, an act of copping or immitating however does cause us to go againt the natural in this case. Hope this help!

Interesting... where do new ideas come from?

If a meme can be dangerous what is it dangerous to?

You are right Yahonatan you are not fertile ground for new memes.

"Any information! Anything you were taught, learned, saw or heard. It came from everywhere." This is inaccurate, information that replicates with variance must first overcome the second law of thermodynamics.Essentially information is everywhere, but ordered information that replicates must struggle to maintain existence so variances that promote survival win.I enjoyed this teds, I feared I was one of few people that contemplates about such things.

When expressed in the context of memes then the clash between religion and science becomes one of an epic struggle between two species competing for the same resources. It would be like calling ants evil because they destroy they compete with termites. Also memes represents organized replicating information, not ideas. To simply call them ideas is missing the profoundness and implications of the concept.

Much of this sounds like a rehash of one of Dan Dennett's TED talks, but delivered by a much less engaging presenter.

LOL Now she has Nazis defending her, no less than AdoltHitler! No credentials, not affiliated with any college, bans books, prints fake data, lawsuits for slander, green hair, angry, full of hate, lectures about minutia and the irrelevant; yet lets be fair. Nazis like her. She's even got AdoltHitler coming to her defense. I have to laugh out loud. OK, your right. Who am I to argue with Nazis who name themselves after Hitler. And for her next lecture: "Memes, temes, and Nazi dreams."

Any information! Anything you were taught, learned, saw or heard. It came from everywhere. Its a very simple concept.

Do you not understand what a meme is?Why do you scoff the study of memes? Why is it a pseudoscience?"Something weirded me out about that lady." wow that shoots her ideas down. |
