embar-America is hardly in a position to speak down to anyone anymore. You, with your dusty shoes and your sagging fortunes. You have lost your homes, your banks, your auto-industry, your infrastructure and even your self-respect. You impose one of the most horrific embargoes on Cuba, hurting not the Castros, but the people...and America wonders WHY they are hated all over the world? You still swagger, and you're still arrogant. The difference now is that nobody listens to you.

emarreras- I had the pleasure to live in Cuba for 3 months . While things are not the glorious socialist "utopia" the communists would have you to belive, it is hardly the "disaster" the Capitalists would like you to believe. I imagine you'll find the truth somewhere in the middle. Personally, I loved Cuba. I would like to see some changes, but frankly...if it turned into the USA, I would be deeply saddened. So should you. Why are you such an angry woman? Does Virginia have something YOU don't?

El unico que gana es Fidel sembrando odio entre hermanos. Es eso lo que quieren para un pueblo que ya ha sufrido 50+ anos de injusticias, de separar familias para siempre. Como se te ocurre tener ese nombre y vivir en USA. Que pretenden? Alargar la condena. Eliminen el veneno de su alma para algun dia ser libres y hermanos, somos solo uno. CUBANOS

embarreras I've noticed that Cubans who disagree with Miami Cubans suddenly become unfortunate "victims". As if they were not smart enough to examine this. Not every Cuban I know hates Castro or loves America. In your Black and White world, there is no room for debate. You either agree with Miami Cubans or you are WRONG. How can that be? How can Communist Cuba be all "wrong" and the USA is all "RIGHT"? It's impossible. Not logical. Are you saying that America NEVER does anything wrong?

You have gratitude that the USA gave you a "new chance" but you fail to mention the USAs interference in Cuban affairs these last 100 years. As if Castro came out of nowhere, in a vacuum. You do not mention the Platt Amendment or the Monroe Doctrine or Batista's cozy relations with the Mafia and the USA. You are intellectually dishonest.

embar- You are not Cuban. You might have born there (doubt it), but you are no longer Cuban. As recently as 4 years ago I was sitting on the Malecon while you were sitting at Burger King. I was going to the Copelia while you were going to Starbucks. I was at Yara while you were watching 700 channels of cable TV. How long has it been since you've walked the streets of La Rampa, Obisbo and El Prado? Please don't sully the Cuban name further by PRETENDING you know what it is to be Cuban, abuelita.
