Damn. I totally wish I was a coloratura, but I'm pretty sure I'm a spinto. Dessay is amazing. I LOVE her voice, and she's a fabulous actor as well. And I think the interpretation is really interesting.

Although everyone seems to hate this particular production of the opera, I think it's the best performance of the doll aria that Natalie Dessay's ever done. I actually like it slowed down like this. Her voice is absolutely beautiful.
