It's okay, you don't all have to leap to his defense or anything... I mean, thanks for the clarification but I can't help it if he creeps me out. I admit it is easier to appreciate him when I minimize the window. = )

This is the way he chooses to express his music. He feels the music when he does this.

an oriental interpretation of this Nocturne... like Yundi Li interpretated Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2very beatufiul! but not 100% Chopin... 97% :)

he's in another world when he's playing it and i wish i could play like that... and yes if u just listen to the music it's well played

noshirm's comment is well put - if inadequately worded. Lang Lang is the future of classical music. No one plays this nocturne as well as he does. I think people should just listen to the playing without looking at him. Listen to the sound and you will be entranced. Check out that amazing fioritura passagework - Lang Lang's the man!

yes, I agree, he is so tragic and flamboyant that you can hardly pay attention to the music, waiting for a new mug to put you off. But I suppose thats down to everyone's style of interpretation. There's a lot of people who find this sort of ecstatic movements quite amazing. I personally find them unnecessary.

I respect his playing ability but c'mon. The man looks like he's being fellated by the piano as he's playing... and I just find that creepy.

Why can't you play piano now

i absolutely adore his interpretation of this piece...(ohhh how i miss my piano-playing days...) I think his movements (although exaggerated in my opinion, but then again, when i play, my body's a stiff board...) actually helps him convey the emotion into his playing. It seems natural for him to move with the music.
