It amazes me how much some people love to argue over petty things. The SCA does things for fun. Of course it isn't going to be 100% realistic, that would just be rediculous. The only way to make this more realistic would be to use actual metal weapons, but that would make fights dangerous.

There are several thousand SCA fighters. Some are tougher than others. Some even do FMA as well. To compare "real world" fighting with SCA fighting is apples & oranges. The SCA is a sport with rules, and does not claim to teach self-defense. Some things in FMA are against the rules in SCA.I know a FMA teacher who uses SCA armor to train, and actually didn't do so well when he started out in the SCA, since SCA weapons & rules are different from FMA. Who have you fought?

You had PSD convoys? Or you were a part of one. I dont know of anyone who is here for 6 years continuous. Actually, I don't know of anyone who still calls them Arabs. You must have been somewhere else than Iraq.Well somewhere other than Baghdad, thats probably the case. In the end it doesnt matter. These people in the SCA are good people. They do it for fun. But hey if you need to pick on them to prop yourself up, so be it...must be ptsd.
