its the old one but its upgraded with a novak hv 6.5 brushless system, big bore shocks and heavy duty oil filled diffs. its a beast. both e-maxxs suck stock.

I fitted my AX10 with a HPI truck puller 2 motor, works very nice. It allows for a very smooth throttle, has as much torque as you could wish for, and draws 1 (one!) Ampere at max speed on level ground - meaning that I can run over one hour on my 2.200 mAh lipo battery. I used a small two-cell pack that I put on top of the steering servo to get the center of gravity low and forward. And I'm using a stock ESC.
