Water taxi from The Maskelynes, Vanuatu

End of the road! It literally runs out here. Further travel around Malekula is by boat or foot. Kalo and his family arrive to transort me from Point Doucere just past Lamap, South Malekula to Peskarus Village in The Maskelyne Islands. I'd been waiting for a while, light was fading fast and I was just beginning to think about Plan B - overnight accommodation in Lamap at Levi's Guesthouse. Things happen in their own time when you travel in Vanuatu. It was a gorgeous moonlit trip, taking about half an hour by fast boat. This trip is made regularly by villagers in their dugout canoes.
