Hollywood actors/actresses et al are usually American citizens who VOTE and have every right to discuss their views openly. You can disagree with them but if people follow and drool over what other people say without any critical thinking (yes, even Hollywood actors/actresses et al) then they're not thinking for themselves. In that case, I agree with your last statement but not your first.

I did a Google search on this: -- "Alec Baldwin" asshole -- and guess how many hits came up? Only about 41,200.Baldwin is a socialist, elitist a-hole deluxe who believes he knows what's best for you -- "the little people."Americans need to quit allowing Hollywood to spew its political agenda all over us. Want to be a Democrat? Want to be a Republican? Either way, it's your decision. But NEVER let a celebrity talk you into it.

What an insightful response to the discussion. Have you considered running for public office as a republican with small town values?

Christiane Amanpour would make 1000x better VP, based on her knowledge of the world alone. Why cant we get some one like her who understands people in foreign lands. (I know she isn't American)

He was also the son of a minor divinity, Thetis. So I guess that makes him partially a god? Yeah, I guess he IS a semi-god.

I am sure sarah palin would have known that!!! She would be like he is a great warrior protected by gods! ahahah if she pulled that correct answer out of her ass... then maybe i would think for a second to vote for McCain, then realize i am stupid for thinking that and proceed to vote for Obama

yes, but thats like saying laura croft imprisoned set. the iliad is a great book and all but it has nothing to do with the mythology beyond using it in its story, right?

Right. His mother dipped him in the River Styx and the spot she held him on, his heel, was his only vulnerability.

he was protected by the gods except for a small area on his heel. that's where achilles heel comes in as it was his only vulernable spot.

achilles was not a greek god, not even a semi-god. He was just a warrior in the Iliad. |
