Epic Fail for the league of Nations, we needed to take matters into our own hands, since the league did nothing to stop Japan attacking China atleast Canada & USA did something, To keep the peace you must be willing to fight for it, kind of ironic though but if Japan hadn't been bombed than Japan would've been a helpful adversary to Germany and Italy in WW2 which could have made the difference between winning and losing the war since Japan was allied with Germany, stupid Axis

i know japenees.. they r very brave & not cowards like americans so they were never thinking to surrender.... it was just americans hu thought v can't fight with them any more so they dropped the bomb.....

that bomb killed more American POW's than it saved, it wasn't about ending the war it was about to justify the crazy amount of money they spent on it!!!!

NO, negotiations were NOT underway. The Hiroshima bomb was 8/6/45. The J war cabinet was meeting at 2am on 8/10/45 hen they received the nes of the Nagasaki bomb. Hirohito immediately issued the surrender order.Try reading the cables beteen Foreign Minister Togo & J amb to USSR Sato. Togo clearly stated that the J govt would not accept unconditional surrender. US codebreakers passed this info to Truman.

Actually the negotiations were still underway with the leader of Japan before the bomb was dropped and there were indications that Japan was intending to surrender through letters and other intelligence gathered after the Americans killed 100,000 civilians.

Enola Gay was the name of the mother of Colonel Paul Tibbets, the pilot of plane.Yes, a demonstration would have given the moral high ground. Possible downside: Js might have started using POWs as human shields and it is possible J govt might have seen that as a lack of American resolve. Are you aware that Hiroshima as a Area Army headquarters, and 20k-30k J soldiers died in the bombing? |
