You just ruined that RX-7. Good job. Your a disgrace to all RX-7 owners.

I'm sure no matter the technical reason, Porsche & all the other manufacturers saw the "writing on the wall". They were getting their ass's handed to them by MAZDA, a Japanese auto manufacturer. And they did the easiest thing to keep their "NAME" a winner. They protested and cried.

While on the Gas topic, from what I heard...... This I do NOT know for sure, but what I overheard.Racing rotaries do not use that much more gas than a ported rotaries on the street, unlike racing piston engines. Racing piston engines (ONLY THE RACING ENGINES) use more gas than racing rotaries. According to a another source, this was the technical basis for kicking the rotories out of racing against piston engines (less gas consumption) on the circuit.

Without contraversy there is no replacement for displacement. But, the 13B is more reliable than the 20B. But I think that was due to Mazda's intense R&D of the 13B up until 1999.Also, the 13B isn't heavy at 282lbs including turbos & all. The LS-1 long block is 398lbs (no intake or headers). That's just flat incorrect. My VERY weak friend & I "pipe & chained" a 13B out. Another friend of mine pulled a 12A himself. Rotaries are extremely light, But not fuel efficient.

I fully agree that the LS1 is better than the 13B REVV and probably than the Renesis. My old man has an LS1 Vette and its nasty. I'm saying the Renesis is FAR superior to the REVV in just about everything. Way more durable and reliable, better gas mileage, and better power I think. The twin turbocharged and intercooled RX7 makes 20 more bhp than the RX8. My RX8 has 39K on the clock on nothing wrong with it that I didn't screw up myself (vacume leak after installing a CAI for example).

While you ARE right, experience says otherwise. A friend bought an RX8 and had the dealer buy it back under the lemon law since it was at the shop more than at her house. Sure they are nice motors and SOME run for a long time but the fact remains that the LS1 is a better engine for the RX7 than the 13B-REW in terms of both power and reliability. And gas mileage. And in my post I specifically cited the turbo with being unreliable.
